On 11th August 2002, Sarah and myself went to the Thunder In The Park event staged at Donnington Park. Satch had arranged that we had pit lane passes and this was very exciting because I have been following Formula 1 motor racing for a number of years without having been to any race or other event live at all. I would not normally consider myself the sort of person to become star struck but in the presence of celebrities such as Murray Walker, Damon Hill, Mark Webber and Louise Goodman, I caught myself saying things like "Wow, is that [insert name]?". The high light of the day was when all 8 two-seater Minardi F1 cars staged a demonstration race which we got to watch from the pit wall
All credit and thanks to the staff at Minardi. We certainly appreciated the hard work and really enjoyed our day.
